The Jacksonville-based band succeeded in successfully translating their powerful live sound to the studio and releasing a masterpiece of old-school Southern rock with their self-titled debut album. The only 1 album by the band, released in 2010. 
That comes as no surprise—after all, Shanytown counts two nephews of the Van Zant brothers among its members: Ronnie Morris (rhythm and lead guitar, vocals) and Robbie Morris (drums; he played with the Johnny Van Zant Band back in the 80s)... and that influence is unmistakable in the vocals and guitar work.
